The U.S. Congress Is For Folks Who Can’t Get Into Clown College

10 years of electricity
for 20,000 homes

A Senate vote to kill funding for the spent fuel repository in Nevada shows the Democratic Party and this administration aren’t serious about energy independence, economic growth or environmental protection.

We need the jobs nuclear power can provide, and we need the energy. The Energy Information Agency projects that by 2030, U.S. electricity demand will increase by 45%. Since nuclear power currently supplies 20%, the U.S. will need to have 35 additional nuclear power plants just to meet future demand. But without Yucca Mountain it won’t happen. IBD Editorials

The picture is a Hyperion Power Module, a mini nuclear reactor. It’s buried in the ground and will provide 7-10 years of electricity for 20,000 homes. Several can be tied together for even greater power output.

The politicians and greenie whackjobs are going to lose the fight on this one. Mini nuclear reactors (MNR) are safe, reliable and cheap, about $25 million as presently configured. That makes meter less electricity affordable to even medium size municipalities.

After the next round of government lunacy, Can n’ Trade, makes all of us considerably poorer and every partner of Goldman Sachs fabulously rich, I hope to see MNRs springing up in economic free zones all across the country. Real wealth comes only from production and not from rent seeking. MNRs will get us off the grid and off the government teat.
